Chandrakanta - Ek Mayavi Prem Gaatha, based on one of the most popular fantasy tales in India, is an Indian supernatural fantasy television drama series airs on Colors TV. The show adapted from the storyline of novel of same title written by Devaki Nandan Khatri. The supernatural drama thriller has been premiered on 24th June 2017 on Colors TV. The show greatly promises larger-than-life characters, their extraordinary journeys and lot of supernaturalism in-between. The show is created by Ekta Kapoor under the banner production of Balaji Telefilms whereas directed by Ranjan Kumar Singh. At basic, the show narrates the story or journey of Princess Chandrakanta. The basic plot is start with birth of Chandrakanta at Ratnaprabha, a great ayyara who owns most powerful dagger of Lord Vishnu where an evil queen Iravati wants it to rule on the world and acquire Vijaygarh. After 21 years, Chandrakanta gets the dagger to keep as a legacy of Ratnaprabha who placed it earlier in Shiva’s temple. Soon, Iravati’s step son Virendra seek that dagger and desire to conquer Suryagarh Kingdom where later he fall in love with Chandrakanta who is raised by poor fisherman family unknown of the dagger’s possession or power. He gets married to Chandrakanta and taken her to Vijaygarh where Chandrakanta come to known about evil plans of Iravati to kill her. The show is all fairy tale thriller drama with wrapped love story. The show casts Madhurima Tuli as Chandrakanta who is well-known Bollywood and South-Indian actress has been known for her antagonist role in Kumkum Bhagya. Urvashi Dholakia, one of the most adored faces, very popular for her music videos and films also featured in this series as main antagonist Queen Iravati. Begusarai famed Vishal Aditya Singh is also among lead roles along with Madhurima and Urvashi. The show telecast on Colors TV on every weekend that is Saturday and Sunday 8 pm.
